Solo-show at Gallery 54 as part of the satellite project from the Gothenburg Biennie of Contemporary Art. I will show the installation "Right Faced Solution Strip Bare by the Crooked Cross, Even no2" (Cultural conservatism, censorship and contemporary art).
4 Sept - 15 Nov, Gallery Konstepidemin/Gothenburg Biennale of Contemporary Art. Together with artist Oscar Ramos I will show the piece "Why is it so hard to reach out?1" at Konstepidemins biennal-saloon.
CENSORED FROM MOSCOW BIENNALE!26 September–25 October 2009, Moscow Biennale of contemporary art
I was invited to participate in the exhibition Vulnerability: An International Exhibition of Contemporary Women's and Gender Art at The Museum Center of the Russian State University for the Humanities, within the Special 3rd Moscow Biennial program. My textile Right Faced Solution Strip Bare by the Crooked Cross, Even that I specially realized for the show was censored. I was given the alternatives to delete the first to images of the piece or to bring another work. Both alternatives felt unacceptable. Since we did not come to an agreement the piece was not put on show. i had the textile in an exhibition at Gallery 54 in Gothenburg 4-27 of September instead. In he exhibition I also had a overhead projecting a report with the title: cultural conservatism, censorship and contemporary art. I had censored the complete text except the title.
