"The piece I made but never saw"
is a piece made for the exhibition Auto-stop curated by Jacob Fabricius.
Auto–stop was a project organized by Malmö Konsthall. Each day during 2-3 weeks in June 2008, different staff members (cleaning- and office personnel, director, bookshop keeper or technician) from Malmö Konsthall was hitchhiking with an artist’s work, performed an artist ’s instruction, handed out an artist ’s text or printedmatter or simply hitchhiked with the artist him/herself in the southern part of Sweden. Each project and travel was documented. The works/documentation of the works was shown at Malmö konsthall in July-August 2008.
For Auto-stop I initiated a collaboration between me, the priest Ida Wäreborn and Malmö konsthall. The Priest Ida Wäreborn hitchhiked for two days together with the artist and also employee at Malmö konsthall Stefan Winroth. After their hitchhikes I interviewed them and the curator of the show about what my contribution to the show was and what made it art. The interviews were cut into a video and showed as documentation of the actual piece in the exhibition at Malmö konsthall.
